Passive House Seminar

Passive House as a design methodology and voluntary performance standard for optimised energy use in buildings. It results in buildings that require little or no energy use for heating or cooling, have excellent internal thermal comfort and low primary energy use. Speaker are as follows:-

Brian Rankin will showcase the six new Passive Houses being constructed for Oaklee Housing association near Dungannon. He will also speak about the energy efficiency measures incorporated into the competition winning scheme for  Code 5 Housing in Carryduff.

Paul McAlister will explain of the design criteria for the German Passivhaus system and how this is achieved in practice. He will also showcase the six new Passive Houses being constructed as an exemplar project near Dungannon.

Art McCormack of the Irish Passive House Academy, the designer of Ireland’s first Passive house, will give his unique insight into Passive House design and the training that is available through the Irish Passive House Academy to designer and architects.
