Criteria: This contemporary dwelling is our first completed project in County Kildare, Ireland to date. The brief asked for a modern family house to be constructed to the energy efficiency standard of the Passivhaus standard. The design allows large sliding glass screens to the south-facing private garden area. This allows for passive solar gain in the colder months and creates a relaxed family space internally that is flooded with light and sunshine. The glass screens make a direct visible connection to the garden.
